Frequently asked questions
Working at Sympatent: general questions
What does remote-first company
mean?
Sympatent is a remote-first company with a team across Germany. Our day-to-day collaboration is designed around working from different locations. You can work flexibly from your chosen location in Germany. In-person meetings take place only occasionally and with sufficient notice.
Are full-time and part-time roles available?
We generally offer both full-time roles at 40 hours per week and part-time positions. Adjusting your weekly hours is usually straightforward; ideally, we plan any changes together with some advance notice.
How flexible are the working hours?
We operate a flexitime system. You can organise your working hours flexibly within the terms of your contract and the company’s operational requirements.
Do I need experience in legal tech or intellectual property?
Not necessarily. Relevant experience may be useful, depending on the role. What matters most to us is your willingness to learn about the subject with our support.
What is Sympatent’s approach to meetings?
We aim to keep internal meetings to a minimum and prefer written communication through our ticketing system and internal chat. The number of client meetings varies considerably by role: our customer support colleagues have daily video calls with users, while our developers focus on technical implementation with as few meetings as possible.
How do colleagues address one another?
Everyone at Sympatent is on first-name terms. We value direct, professional and respectful communication.
